IQAir Pre-filter element for HealthPro Line

There is no magical, cheap, silent, super-energy efficient way to REALLY clean air. PERIOD. There are only measured compromises.
The IQAir is the absolute best air cleaner available to the public. It makes a bit of noise, but very, very little for the massive volume of air. It uses a bit of electricity, but it takes power to pump air through such absolutely, ridiculously, fabulously purifying multi-stage filters. THINK about it.
The filters seem pricey. THEY AREN'T. The filters last a stupefyingly long time. They are huge and thick--everything they need to be, to stop greater than 99% of .003 micron particulates, plus the huge .3 micron particules that make the filters HEPA certified. Just try to picture the difference--a thousand times smaller. That's like the difference in size between a b-b and a 15 foot diameter ball (if they exist). I have two IQ Air purifiers in home.This Prefilter is manufactured specifically for the machine. I've had the purifiers for 3 years now and am very pleased with the quality of the product. The purifiers should last for decades. When they finally reach the end of their life I would purchase another from the same company.

My pair of IQ Air HealthPro air purifiers have dramatically reduced my allergy symptoms. My home lacks central air or any other type of air conditioner (and the air filtration that goes with it).

In my case, this Pre-Max filter lasts about 6 months before the device determines -- via computer monitoring -- that it's time for a new one. This is the second time I've replaced the Pre-Max filter (in both units). When I place the old filter next to the new filter, the old filter is so darkened that it is almost black and the new filter is pure white. That right there shows me how much stuff the filter is removing from the air I breathe at home.
