Oransi v-hepa Air Purifier

UPDATE: I wanted to update from my review below -- I've changed my 4 stars to 1. It's now about 2 months since I bought the air purifier, and it's currently in pieces in my living room as my husband looks to replace a part. The filter stopped working this weekend after having been "finicky" for a couple of weeks. I went ahead and opened the case up (diabolically tricky to do) and saw what was obviously wrong--all of the wires connected to the "on/off, I, II, III" dial weren't attached to anything. Apparently, instead of soldering the wires, they have this really cheap plastic gizmo that is supposed to hold them in place and have them make contact only as you spin the dial. I'm surprised that it failed so quickly, because I almost always left the dial on "II," except when I would turn it off to clean it. I read the reviews which said this model was really quiet but I was skeptical that it could really be _that_ quiet. So I bought one and it really is that quiet. 3 speeds. The high speed is what you would expect, it sounds like a fan. However after some experimentation the middle speed is quiet enough to sleep to and that is where I set it for bedtime. It is nice to wake up still able to breath through my nose, so very nice.

The low speed however is so quiet you would have a hard time knowing it was even turned on. For example this morning I woke up and thought I could hear that the filter was on and set on the low speed but it turns out that it had actually been turned off!

It works great, the air feels great and I noticed a huge difference immediately.

Also the unit is not huge, it doesn't look like something you'd put in a hospital room and it fits snugly against the wall.

I bought this air purifier since it was rated highly and I needed some relief in sleeping better without being so stuffed up. I've only had it for a week and I can tell the air in the room is cleaner. It's not exactly a fresh mountain top smell but more like a clean, filtered air scent. I can really tell a difference when I walk into my bedroom as opposed to the other rooms in the house. I'm somewhat of a light sleeper and the highest fan speed setting was a little too loud for me so I run it on the medium fan speed. It looks nice in my room - so far so good. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to others who are looking to wake up a little less stuffy in the morning.
