After using these for a couple of months they have started to disintegrate and we have noticed holes, wear marks on our clothes. It took a while to figure our what was causing the problem with the clothes wearing out. We love the fact that they are PVC free but don't want to have our clothes damaged. A lot of money for something that didn't work well for us. We're back to the 'blue' dryer balls. We never had a problem with those.

This review is from: Nellie's IMDB-E PVC Free Dryer Balls (Misc.)
I bought these balls because after purchasing a high efficiency dryer, we couldn't dry sheets or towels without them turning into tight, wet bound up cocoons in the machine. It was very frustrating. I bought the dryer balls in the PVC free version because my dryer gets hot and the last thing I want is to heat up plastic and have those things off gassing chemicals into our house. I use two at a time and toss them in with my sheets and towels. They work perfectly! As they bounce around, their weight keeps the sheets separated just enough to keep them from getting tangled up. I haven't noticed any fabric softening effect, wrinkle reducing, or static reducing effect, but I didn't purchase them for that purpose. I haven't used them with regular loads to see if they actually affect the drying time of clothing. I have been using them for over a month and they looks exactly the same as the day they arrived, so we're not having any trouble with the integrity of the materials used in...Read more

And by that I mean you may literally throw a shoe in the dryer. The same theory applies to how this would work.

So my wife bought these things, and I was skeptical. But I love to try things like this.

6 towels take 90 minutes to dry in my dryer.

Without Dryer Balls: 90 Minutes
With Dryer Balls: 85 Minutes
With Loafer: 75 Minutes.

To be fair, I have no idea how this theory is supposed to work theory wise, but I kind of get it.

So I tossed a size 11 1/2 Wide loafer in. Why not. basically the theory would be an object of somewhat hard/soft make0up to disrupt the normal flow of the round and round dryer motion.

I think the theory is to mix up the mix of articles in the dryer to get everything touching each other at different times. With some articles being dryer and hotter touching others that aren't.

So why not a shoe?

Without a doubt, the shoe is awesome for cutting times off the dry cycle...Read more
