I live in a development with a lot of fireplaces. These days people use fireplaces to save money on high fuel bills. Fireplace smoke is just about the worst irritant for me. I have 2 of these machines if I fire them up they work for me. No other machine I have owned have worked as well. They cost but they work. I can be inhaler free if I choose to. The machine costs less then steroids do plus no side effects. If you know your neighbors fireplace bothers you this is worth a try. I went back and looked at the older review of one star the buyer states he got 4 charcoal filters for 1200 bucks. This review is not accurate. The filters contain far more chemical then charcoal. I know because I built my own charcoal/carbon filters from activated charcoal. While my activated charcoal filters help with fireplace smoke they are not good enough. Unfortunately if you have chemical sensitivities to air charcoal alone will not do the trick...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By J A REBUFFO (Valdemorillo, Madrid, ES) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: IQAir GC MultiGas Control Air Purifier for Tobacco Smoke control, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, and Wide Spectrum Gas filtration (Kitchen) The reason to buy this thing is because we smoke. We don't want to impose second hand smoke to any neighbor, so we tightly sealed the doors, the electrical outlets, and everything, but, when we left the draft between the hallway and our apartment sent some odor out, and though nobody complained, I hated it.This product is amazing. Our apartment is around 1000 sqf. We tried other so-called HEPA filters, and spent almost $1000 in useless devices that went to the trash. This is the one. Up to level 3, it's barely audible (though we live in Manhattan, and the noise here is awful). From level 4 and on, it starts to be annoying. However, we only set it that high when we leave the apartment, and when we're back we set it on 3. There's not a single trace of odor when we arrive. Be careful with the carbon filters when you unpack them, there's some carbon leaks from the filters and you can get that micro powder everywhere. Besides that, the unpacking+assembly...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By InMyMindsAyn "Darren" (Kansas City) - See all my reviews This review is from: IQAir GC MultiGas Control Air Purifier for Tobacco Smoke control, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, and Wide Spectrum Gas filtration (Kitchen) I'm puzzled by the reviews with one star for this product. This machine worth every penny that I paid for it and the filters. It doesn't just clean the air a bit, it changed my life. As for the claim of it not sucking perfume out the air -- it will suck ANY chemical out of the air. It can't suck perfume out of fabric or clothing though. You will absolutely tell a remarkable difference in the air you breathe. I feel fantastic since using it! Keep in mind that it can only cover so many square feet. I have a studio apartment and it works great. Otherwise, you'll need to let it run at night and maybe keep the bedroom door closed. You'll love it though. |
