I've had one for several years and its extended the life of many, many berries. I used to be able to keep raspberries for 2-3 days. Now, raspberries are the same as the day I bought them at least 1 week later. Sometimes I've had them longer when I've bought large quantities on sale. Every other vegetable and fruit has had an extended life. I love this little thing! I am buying a few more for Christmas gifts for my gadget loving friends. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Ion-Care IC2138 FreshFridge Refrigerator Air Purifier 2.0 (Kitchen) My fridge developed a horrible odor over the summer. We took everything out of it, food, shelves, EVERYTHING and cleaned and sanitized it all, but the smell wouldn't go away. I searched and found a ton of these air purifiers, but most were very expensive. I figured for $12.00 I would give this a try. I got the product in the mail, popped in the batteries and put it in the stinky fridge. The next morning when I opened the fridge to grab cream for my coffee, the odor was gone! Not just a little better, but completely gone. I kept this in the fridge and the odor hasn't returned. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By J.E.Jones (Pacific Coast) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Ion-Care IC2138 FreshFridge Refrigerator Air Purifier 2.0 (Kitchen) We've had our Ion-care IC2138 FreshFridge long enough to find out that it works like the proverbial charm. One of my early tests was on a pretty glass jar; its nice lid--with rubberized seal--had a horrible old garlic odor. Nothing I'd done made them useable again, but I wasn't ready to give up. So I put them in the refrigerator overnight and in the morning both smelled fresh, clean and new! (On the other hand, it took a good five or six days to remove laundry detergent odor from a sturdy plastic container I wanted to use for something else. Worth the wait.) But food? That's the whole point, isn't it? It's absolutely true that fresh fruits and vegetables do last several times longer, so there's far less waste in this home (which no longer has hungry teenagers to keep food swiftly rotated). For instance, we no longer lose bagged salad to spoilage since I slit the bags or cock the container lids to make sure air can circulate into them. One caution, though:...Read more |
