I now have two HEPA air filters, as they are the best for cleaning allergens and bad odors out of the air. This model is a lot sleeker looking than previous ones with a shiny black surface. With my terrible dust allergies, this tower virtually eliminates my sneeze attacked. An added bonus is the whooshing sound it makes, like white noise, which helps to drown out any exterior noises for a better night's sleep.

This model, like most, has the ionizer (this collects particles in the air by bonding them together) and passes them through a triple carbon filter. I recently moved my room into my basemeant and my alergies were bothering me constantly and i couldnt get rid of the basemeant smell and my dehumidifier wasnt doing much. But this made a huge differnece allergies dont bother me and my room doesnt smell like the basemeant now. it also has a great deseign easy to use doesnt take up much room and works great.

I purchased this unit spring 2011. I changed the filters, washed the pre-filter per the manual. After a year and half, the power units in the middle (between the fans) give off a spark every 10 seconds. The frequency subsides and is completely gone after 3-4 minutes. The sound is audible over the high setting.
