It got so bad I would have coughing fits every day and night. I looked at many air purifiers which had permanant filters, but I would have to clean them every 3 months, I don't know about you, but I have enough to do without worrying if my unit is working because I forgot to clean the filters. Also I like that the true HEPA filters work more effectively and had better review overall on the internet reviews. I don't find it hard to invest 60 dollars a year on the filters, the large unit does almost my whole studio apt, whereas I would have to buy more than one of the other units. I think that this is a great value for price, and in one hour I could feel the difference, infact yesterday I thought the windows were open but they were not, the air purifier worked that well to clean the air. So far my coughing has all but gone away...Read more 21 of 21 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Holmes® HAP756-U True HEPA Allergen Remover for Very Large Rooms (Kitchen) We've had this unit for 5 months now and it is remarkable how much debris is captured in the carbon pre-filters. They are supposed to be replaced approximately every 6 months and I plan on that. However, I am vacuuming them every 2 months or so due to the amount trapped. Since we bought it we are experiencing very little dust on the surfaces in the bedroom where our unit is used.
Someone complained about the cost of the filters as the HEPA filters should be replaced every 12 months at $20 per filter (price at Target--2 for $39.99), but if this unit continues to clean the way it has so far, I don't mind paying the approximately $75 for filters per year. That's not much considering what we do not have to breathe in and the significantly reduced cleaning of the window blinds. The Holmes HAP756-U significantly outperforms units we have elsewhere in our condominium. 21 of 23 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Holmes® HAP756-U True HEPA Allergen Remover for Very Large Rooms (Kitchen) Seems like a very good unit.. quiet air flow quite good but the only drawback that I can measure is the cost of the three ( 3 ) hepa filters at $24.95 each.. Maybe the filters are less somewhere other than Holmes.. can't seem to locate part no. HAPF600CS.. Would not take long to exceed the cost of a more expensive /presumably better unit that had longer life or self cleaning filters. Razor and Blade scenerio seems to be the typical marketing strategy for most of these types of units. |
