Holmes Arm and Hammer Air Purifier Booster Filter

I use my Holmes air cleaner in an average sized bedroom where a smoker stays. The cleaner itself seems to work okay at keeping the smoke and odor down to a minimum. I bought these thinking it would be even better at odor control. But after using them as directed for two months, I just don't see/smell a difference. I'll save my money and just continue to use the regular filters and maybe change them more often.

Vacuuming the old ones out a few times with the hose attachment before you replace them. You can use a vacuum "crevice tool" to clean the cracks in the hepa filter, but you really need to replace those periodically, and they are more expensive.

Also suction the body of the device.

These are only the preliminary foam filters that collect the large particles, like dust, hair and other see-able contaminants. You need to use it in conjunction with the Holmes HAPF30DPDQ-U 2- Pack Hepa-Type filters for Holmes® and Bionaire® Air Cleaners in order to collect the finer particles like allergens, dander and pollen. They will do nothing for cleaning or purifying the air by themselves. They can be washed and reused, but the Hepa-Type filters are absolutely necessary. Hepa-filters need to be replaced every several months depending on use. These filters are for the Holmes HAP716-U True-HEPA 3-Speed Tower Allergen Remover.
