When plugged in and switched on, a small green indicator light will go on; this means that the all-purpose carbon filter is working to eliminate strong odors such as tobacco, litter boxes, diaper pails, or even pungent cooking smells that can become unpleasant if they linger. Each filter lasts for 30 days of continuous use or up to 120 days of occasional use. A small dial on the upper right-hand side can be set as a reminder about which month the filter will need to be changed.

Unplug the unit before cleaning.
