my husband is a smoker and the best I can get him to do is to stand by the back door as he smokes. Half the time, the smoke blows right back in so I place this on a wall outlet nearby. It seems to work because I took it down for a couple of weeks and I started noticing when he was smoking while I was in other rooms of the house. I believe it is capturing a significant amount of the smoke and filtering it very well.

There are 4 filter replacements in the box, but the machine takes 3 at a time, so really this 18.00 box is only worth one more time around with the filters. Not really worth the money.
