I owned a VERY similar purifier and used it in my dorm room in college. It was awful. I could barely feel air coming out of the front of the unit and to me that means that purification isn't getting very far into my living space. Then, 2 years after I bought it it just didn't work anymore. I paid $500 for it. So $250 a year for purification that barely makes it out of the machine?!

Then I found the GT1500. It's much sleeker, sexier, and more robust than the other one I had. The air flow is great, the fan isn't as quiet as the whole home models, but it still doesn't keep me from sleeping. I love the adjustable ozone output as well. I turn it on when there's an odor issue, and when I can't smell the odor I turn it back down. It's so cool how you can take it apart to clean it without tools as well. It's like someone took that old unit, fixed all the issues, added some really cool features, and cut $100 off the price. I love it!

I am so excited about discovering this air purifier. It does everything that the luxury, whole house models do, but for a fraction of the price and in a more compact size that makes it easily transportable. We took ours with us when we stayed at a friend's house last weekend and our friend was so impressed that she immediately ordered two of them for her kids' dorm rooms. We put it in her kitchen and it completely eliminated all cooking odors on the spot. She found she could even chop onions without the tears. It is for spaces up to 1500 square feet, so you'll want to bear that in mind when you consider it. But if you are looking for an air purifier for an area of that size--not larger than a 2-bedroom apartment or 3-4 person office--you won't find one with more features or effectiveness to clean the air and remove bacteria from surfaces. We keep one in our pool house and it has completely removed the visible mold and the smell of mildew that is a constant problem in South...Read more

This filter is expensive, but well worth the cost - I have it placed on my refrigerator, and it removes all cooking odors within twenty minutes
