Calutech Blue Whole House Uv Air Purifier

I have had this unit for 5 years. I bought it because my basement smelled so musty, all you could smell as soon as you walked into my house was the basement. I was terribly embarassed by the smell and concerned about the health effects. The basement had been damp for the first few years after we built it, and I was concerned the smell was toxic mold. I spent 100's of dollars on mold treatments and preventatives, and expensive one-room air purifiers and Ionizers without any help. I knew the mold spores were in the air, not only on the surfaces and was being spread throughout our home when the furnace or A/C ran. This item work as well as any other product of this class. But it is a big hassle to change the UV bulb. You have to take the whole unit out from the A/C to replace the bulb.

There is another unit that is exactly the same in design, except for look, call "Beyond Air UV" induct air purifier that work the same as this unit. However it is much simpler to replace the UV bulb. You just detach the unit from the housing attached to the A/C duct and replace the bulb. Then place it back in the housing with the new bulb.

If I knew about it, I would have purchased the "Beyond Air UV" induct air purifier instead and would not have the problem I have with having to removing the whole Calutech Unit from the duct to replace the UV bulb every year for the last 6 years.

If you have not purchase this item, I would recommend you google "Beyond Air UV" and buy the unit at half the price of Calutech UV induct air purifier.
