I am becoming less and less thrilled with Austin Air. We have purchased over a dozen of these units for our home and for others in the past 10 years and at first, we were really happy with them. The DO clean the air and ARE good for allergies but the DO break within months of their warranty and the company is NOT helpful with getting them taken care of. Every person gives you a different story and blames the last person - even when you speak to the same person 2x you get two different opinions and over the years they keep changing how they fix units and the costs. It now costs $100 parts/labor and about $60 shipping both ways to have them fix a unit. If you do this every several years PLUS need to change the filter every 2-3 years it is REALLY expensive to have these units. I'd feel differently if I felt the customer service was helpful but I was so frustrated the last time we needed to send in yet another unit and yet again the price went up and they didn't know what to do...as...Read more
