Austin Air Healthmate Jr Replacement Filter w/ Prefilter (Light-colored)

I've had my Austin Healthmate filters for over 10 years, and I have to say I am delighted with their performance. You can find a HEPA filter that is less expensive, but I recommend spending the extra for the xeolite/charcoal filter that also has a HEPA filter stage. Yes, they really do work for up to 5 years, especially if you take them apart and clean the pre-filter once a year. I like to note on the bottom in marker when I last changed the filter and when I last cleaned the pre-filter. They help with Austin Tx cedar fever, mold spores and even the ragweed pollen when it comes out. I can turn them down to silent mode most of the year, and only crank them up to high when the allergies attack. Very worthwhile.

Good effective air filter. Basic but does the job. No electronic, nor timers, etc. Only two speeds. A bit noisy, but tolerable.
