Let your HVAC system know the temperature outdoors or inside your ducts. Connects to a communicating system, like the Communicating Touchscreen Thermostat. Small at only 3/4" square x 1.75" long, it should be easy to find an appropriate mounting location.
This review is from: Aprilaire 8052 Duct or Outdoor Mount Temp Sensor
I connected this to an Aprilaire 8600 thermostat. Simple to hook up, only two wires. It comes with about 2' to 3' of wire attached to the sensor with the sensor attached to a bracket. Also a mounting screw, two wire nuts and a plastic wire retainer. You need two screws, one to mount the sensor and one for the wire retainer, but only one is supplied. The bracket shown in the Amazon product page shows a bracket with two holes, but I think that may be an older design. The one shown on the Aprilaire website at

shows the one hole bracket that I received.
I am satisfied that the sensor is reasonably accurate, as I have two other outdoor sensors (different brands and types) located on the same side of my house, and they all register the same temp within 1/2 degree.
