This review is from: Alen A350 Air Purifier Two-pack (Pack of 2) Save 00 (Health and Beauty)
I moved into a house with a dusty a/c system and started looking for a purifier to relieve my itchy eyes and stuffy nose. I had to go to external websites to get reviews on this product... [...]. I bought the dual pack for the savings, but overall the money for product puts it in the middle price category for purifiers and it's absolutely worth it. One of my units went in the bedroom, so noise was a huge factor. All the reviews of this unit being quiet on Level 1 were spot on, I can't hear a thing when it's on 1 in the bedroom. It also had a slimmer design than the floor units, and mine mount on the wall very nicely to still allow furniture to be situated around it. Two thumbs way up.
Breathing Easy,

What can I say? I'm breathing easy. This area is high in pollins, mold and other allergens. I have sleep apnea and need a CPAP every night but allergies cause me to start coughing and I had to turn it off. Not enough sleep. One of the machines is in my bedroom and now I can sleep through the night. Yea! (excuse the spelling)

Settings 1 and 2 are fine for any room of the house including the bedroom, for me. It is a white noise sound, so level 2 may even be helping my sleep. Level 4 is only good for initial cleaning in my opinion. Level 3 is ok if you are not watching TV, not sleeping, or if you are tolerate of a much louder background noise.
My issue is:
- Between level 2 and 3 there is way too much contrast in the noise level. 2 is fine, but 3 is not acceptable. It would seem that a 2.5 would have been acceptable and would be cleaning my air more
- Lab tests and rating are based on level 4, which I do not use. These items should be based on level 2, and expectations should be based on that level because that is what I am reallying getting
- The square footage and effectivenesss is based on level 4 setting, which I rarely use
Note: Other reviews suggest that ALL comparable products have the same issue: they are only tolerable at lower speeds. I suggest the testing labs...Read more
