This review is from: 3Q AP04S Twin Pack Electrostrostatic Ionic Air Purifier, Cleaner I bought these because my Mother, who was coming to visit, had been having unexplained allergic reactions, and we have two cats. I'm really very skeptical of space-age looking devices that purport to do these tasks that I cannot immediately see or evaluate, but the price was right, so I gave the house a thorough vacuuming and dusting, and turned on these things.
I used both of them in about a 400 square foot area, and they have definitely kept down the dust. The electrostatic traps are usually coated with gunk when I clean them. And my mother had a cold while she was here. My husband and I are both on immunosuppressive therapy, and neither of us got sick. I cannot positively attribute that to these little air purifiers, but it makes me want to keep them running. I use them on the low setting and don't notice the noise in the living/dining area. There is a slight hum, so I think how well they would work in a bedroom would depend on what kind...Read more 31 of 31 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 3Q AP04S Twin Pack Electrostrostatic Ionic Air Purifier, Cleaner The 3Q air purifiers have a lot going for them:
- electrostatic collector rod to get the dust (generates small quantities of ozone) - charcoal filter to eliminate odors - UV lamp to kill germs - blue light night lamp - 2 levels of operation - easy to take apart and clean - well built - good price when compared with equivalent products In fact, when compared to Sharper Image's Ionic Breeze, you get 2 units for about half the price of the higher end product. Of course, the 3Q's are a lot smaller than the more expensive item but, still, you do get more for less with the 3Q. The only issue I have with the 3Q's operation so far is the relatively loud fan noise when compared to the Ionic Breeze which runs without a fan. It's not VERY loud but you can hear it. One note on the 3-year warranty: forget about it. You are expected to send over the defective item at your own expense AND enclose a $20...Read more 47 of 51 people found the following review helpful: By MALL727.50megs.com "Andrew" (Strongsville, OH USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 3Q AP04S Twin Pack Electrostrostatic Ionic Air Purifier, Cleaner The 3Q (Model #3Q-AP-04S) Electrostatic Air Purifier With Filter & UV Lamp arrived on the East Coast from Washington State within a week of ordering it from Amazon. It came in a plain cardboard box, and inside I found the two units in their own separate boxes. Inside aside from the two units were an AC wallwart transformer and a set of instructions with each unit. Setting up the 3Q Electrostatic Air Purifier was a snap and pretty intuitive. However, remove the small piece of masking tape securing the electrostatic collector rod on the inside before plugging in and setting up. Perhaps the instruction book was the only thing that needed improvement. The units and the instructions are made in China (well, maybe that's another negative, we could use the manufacturing jobs here) and the instructions have lost something in the transition between Chinese and American script. Otherwise the product seems well designed. The collector rod is easy to remove and install, the top 'on-off' two speed...Read more |
